Amazing suction power and worth the price

I needed a new vacuum cleaner and my choices came down to the Dyson DC28 Animal upright or a similarly priced Miele canister. After some consideration I went with the Dyson because I have more carpets than hardwoods and my home is quite large. After using it for a bit I can say it has unreal suction. We have a long haired dog who does shed often and I like to keep things clean, though it is hard. As soon as I vacuumed the first time with the DC 28 it filled the dirt chamber up to capacity. I did it again the next day and it filled it almost half way up. My last vacuum was really leaving a lot behind. My carpets look as new as when they were installed and I honestly cannot remember them looking this good.

I read some other reviews that said this vacuum cleaner is heavy but I don’t think it’s any heavier than any other upright. It’s not hard to maneuver at all but this model does have some beef behind it. That’s why it cleans so well, it’s not a lightweight piece of junk that leaves dirt behind. This is a powerful cleaning machine.

There are 4 different height adjustments as well. A bare floor, low pile, medium pile, and high pile. The bare floor is the lowest and doesn’t use the beater bar so you will want this if you have anything that can be damaged. You can really feel the suction in your hands when you use it. In my opinion, it is named appropriately as it is an Animal. Another thing I like is the long electric cord. I think that’s 35 feet and I have no problems reaching all the rooms. I like the attachments for cleaning other things as well. The crevice tool, stiff brush tool, flat out tool work wonders on many items. The HEPA filter is supposedly lifetime and it’s simple to wash. Overall the filtration is outstanding which is a big reason I went with the Dyson DC28. I have no complaints and highly recommend it.

Great suction but a little pricey

I was looking for a new canister vacuum cleaner for my home so I decided to give the Dyson DC23 Turbinehead a try. Their uprights are very popular but I haven’t heard much about their canisters. I found an ok price on this one so I thought I would try it since they know a lot about building powerful vacuums.

Obviously the first thing I noticed was how much dirt and dust it picked up compared to my old vacuum cleaner. The suction on the DC23 is amazing and I find that it really doesn’t lose suction when I’m using it. The turbine head attachment spins very fast and pulls up a lot of stuff. I find that it easily picks up cat litter, small pebbles, and just about anything else in its’ path. One thing that shocked me was the huge ball of dust that I picked up in our bedroom. I have no complaints about the cleaning ability of this vacuum.

Some of the things I like about the Dyson DC23 are the great suction, the rather small size and overall light weight, and the modern design of it. I also find that the dust bin is easy to empty and like the fact that I don’t have to buy replacement bags. Also, since it is a canister I find that I can get underneath things much easier than my prior upright vacuum. This is a big help since I don’t have to move many things to get the house clean.

There are a couple things that I don’t like about it. For starters, the hose doesn’t really fold up nicely on it. It just seems to hang off and the power head attachment doesn’t have a solid place to stay either. I also think it is a little expensive but if it lasts as long as they say it will then I won’t have a problem with paying more. I’m just not used to paying this much for a vacuum cleaner but most of my prior purchases haven’t lasted very long.

Overall I like the Dyson DC23 Turbinehead. It cleans all of our floors including carpets and linoleum, plus it picks up a lot of dirt that our older one left behind. I recommend it to anybody looking for a canister that is powerful and still has the flexibility to clean many floor types.

Love the vacuum but had issues with it

While I do love my Dyson DC14 upright vacuum cleaner, I have to say that I was recently shocked to find that when the belt goes, and you think it is a quick trip to walmart to buy a new one
and replace, know & understand now that is sooo not the case. It is an entire assembly, that I have been advised the belts are probably fine, but the gears gone bad. As if I had not paid enough for the vacuum, I now know that I can get the belt assembly for a mere $100.00, and it requires a “special” tool, therefore, I will also have to have it repaired by a professional. Very disappointed Dyson owner.

Lightweight upright vacuum with a lot of power

I purchased the Dyson DC24 online as I wanted a more compact, light vacuum cleaner that still had the suction to get the entire house clean. I also wanted to try out The Ball as it looked like something that would work great around the furniture and boy was I right. I have been greatly pleased with the power and performance of the DC24 All Floors.

With 4 cats in our household we needed something with great suction as well as great hepa filtration. The Dyson delivers and also comes with enough attachments for a variety of items like stairs, beds, and curtains. It is easy to move around, much easier than the heavy Kirby that we replaced. The DC24 lifts the hair out of our carpets with no problems. I just can’t believe how much power this little upright has, but I’ve never owned a Dyson before. I guess they are known for this and I can see why.

With asthma I needed something that had a hepa filter, especially with all of the pets we have living under this roof. While I take medication to keep the asthma under control I have noticed a big improvement since using the Dyson. The usual allergies I would feel are almost gone which makes me feel much better when I’m at home.

And The Ball is really a cool idea. I’m not sure why other companies don’t do something like it because it eliminates all of the back and forth repositioning that other upright vacuums have. I love it.

Innovative vacuums from an innovative company

We purchased the Dyson DC15 Ball in the All Floors configuration last year and can say that it is a great upright vacuum cleaner indeed. The Ball as it is called makes it simple to move it around furniture, much easier than other more traditional vacuum cleaners which you have to muscle a bit. The turning of this machine is simply amazing and takes some getting used to. It makes you wonder why other brands still use wheels.

Another big improvement on this vacuum is the direct drive of the brush. My older Hoover would always start to slip the belt after a while which affected the performance of it quite a bit. The design of this Dyson solves that and still allows you to turn the direct drive off for harder surfaces, then back on for your carpets. The suction of the All Floors is astonishing and I can’t even imagine using their Animal upright. With a dog and a cat in our home we need something that can handle a lot of hair without clogging. Dysons are designed to not clog under typical operation, and they also have awesome hepa filters. Our rugs have never been cleaner than they are now.

I don’t really have anything negative to say about the Dyson DC15 Ball. The performance is excellent as it picks up everything that our old Windtunnel would leave behind. It’s also a pretty quiet upright and emptying the dirt canister is way easier than changing a dust bag. The attachments work pretty good too and they stow easily on the outside of the vacuum cleaner. I recommend it to anyone who wants a do it all machine that will last for many years.

Great power for 6 minutes every time

I recently bought the Dyson DC16 Root 6 as I needed a new handheld vacuum for small cleaning jobs. I’ve owned probably 5 other hand vacuums and this Dyson is by far the best. The reason for this is simple: it gives you unbelievable suction at max power over and over again. I would rather have a cleaner that sucks up powerfully for 6 minutes than one that is lackluster but has a longer battery life. You can clean faster with it so you don’t need a 20 minute battery, and if you do then you should use one of the full sized vacuum cleaners.

The perfect time to use it is when you see some crumbs or a small spill on the floor. It will get everything in the first pass which always for me is much faster than any other I have owned. My old vacuums would have to go over the floor like 3 or 4 times but not the Root 6. Now, people must remember that it is not designed to be a replacement for a large upright or canister vacuum cleaner. It is a nice complement to your other full sized machine.

I have found that this Dyson recharges in around 3 hours and has a nice set of LED lights showing what the current power level is. I have read other reviews where people complain about only having like 5 minutes of cleaning time but if you need more then you are using the wrong model. I think some people just need to realize this and they will appreciate all that this vacuum has to offer. It does have some cool features like two attachments in one which means you have less pieces to carry around.

We love Dysons so maybe we are biased. We also own two of their uprights but we keep going back to them for good reason. You won’t find another cleaner that has the suction, or at least we haven’t found one. This handheld is highly recommended.

Highly recommend canister for hard floors and some carpets

Overall I am very satisfied with the Dyson DC21 Stowaway bagless canister vacuum cleaner. I have a fairly small house with a variety of flooring including hardwoods, carpets, and tile. I can say without a doubt that Dyson vacuums have tremendous suction and pick up just about anything you can throw in their path.

The cable length is fine for our home but might be a little short if you have huge rooms. Since it is a canister it is quite easy to move around furniture and gets the stairs clean with no problems. The hose is made of high quality plastic and seems to flex with no problems. Looks to me like it will hold up for a long time, even with constant vacuuming. The accessories attach to the vacuum with no problems and are helpful in getting many things around the home free from dirt and dust. The HEPA filter is also top notch which is something I definitely was looking for.

The floor tool on the DC 21 moves around pretty smoothly and it picks up from the edge quite good. It does have a bumper on it so it won’t damage things that it touches which is a plus as you wheel it around the home. A very handy foot pedal will turn the brush on or off for various floors. This is just another nice feature that was included and one that you don’t see on canisters that often.

Everything is easy to use which is common on a Dyson. The extension wand works great once you get the hang of it, which took me a couple of tries. I’ve read other reviews that complained about it but I think they gave up too soon. The dirt chamber is easy to empty as well and very simple to clean after each use. Since I have dust allergies I really need something that has great HEPA and is easy to clean, and the Stowaway fits the bill perfectly. And the fact that it needs no replacement filters or bags is a big plus in my book.

Great upright vacuum cleaner

When we first received and unpacked our Dyson DC14 Animal upright vacuum cleaner we were awestruck at the quality of the design. These vacuums have been designed in such a way that they really inspire confidence that they can clean your home in a hurry. Such small things as the ease of removing the dirt and dust canister as well as the excellent attachments are a blessing. And once you start vacuuming you will realize why you had to buy a Dyson.

One thing is certain about Dyson vacuum cleaners is that they really have the suction ability to get the job done. We decided to first clean our home with our old vacuum cleaner, then went to work with the DC14. We were surprised at how much more dirt and hair it pulled up. Clearly stated it goes deeper into our carpets than any other machine we have used. And as a multiple pet owner we really appreciate the state of the art HEPA filtration.

In our home, we all suffer from indoor allergens. I mentioned the HEPA filter and its’ effectiveness before but we also notice that we don’t have any difficulties emptying the canister into the garbage. The one button dump from the bottom of the Animal Cyclone keeps the dust safely away from you and where it belongs.

The only complaint and it is a very minor one is that it is a little heavy to move up and down stairs but to be fair, it is no heavier than other uprights. If we needed a light vacuum we would have went with their canister. However, for our home, this Dyson is highly recommended to anyone we talk to.

The DC18 Slim has more suction than other vacuums

My prior vacuum cleaner was a Kenmore canister which was one of the better cleaners I have owned but it was starting to break down. I was ready to try an upright and the Dyson DC18 Slim caught my eye. I didn’t want a big and heavy machine so I was hoping this would be the best solution.

Now I was initially a little unimpressed by the amount of plastic on the outside as I thought it would not hold up to a lot of use but this is not the case. Dyson has been building vacuum cleaners for a while so these machines are quality built. The first thing that really surprised me was the weight. It is quite light for an upright though it still weighs a little more than a canister.

By far the biggest thing this cleaner has going for it is the suction. It really picks up the dirt, I can say that with no doubt. When I first started vacuuming our rugs it pulled up more stuff than any of my other machines did and you could really tell the carpet was much more clean than before. The Dyson Slim picks up dirt and dust so fine that you cannot see it but you know the HEPA filter is doing its’ job.

One thing that disappoints is the attachments. It does come with two attachments that work good, I feel that at the cost of this vacuum it should also have the low reach tool that they want to charge you more for.

The bottom line is our family loves this lightweight upright. It cleans very well and the lifetime HEPA filtration is a nice feature as I was spending $20 or so every six months on my other vacuum cleaner. Hopefully it will hold up over time but I am confident that I made a good purchase. I recommend this to others.
