Dyson DC17 Animal Cyclone Upright Vacuum Cleaner

The Dyson Animal lives up to its’ name

Like many other reviews I have read online, I don’t have any complaints with my Dyson DC17 Animal upright vacuum cleaner. My carpets are quite plush in all the rooms of my home and not only is the vacuum not damaging the fibers but it is removing TONS of fur from my two dogs as well as any dirt it comes across. These vacuum cleaners really do have more suction than any others.

I also really love the attachments that came with it. The small turbine tool works almost like a mini Animal itself. It picks up just about anything in its’ path on or under my furniture. This is a great improvement over my previous upright where the attachments did little more than just push the hair around.

The DC17 is also more quiet than I would have imagined with the amount of power that it possesses. And for a full sized upright it really isn’t that heavy. I find myself moving it around with ease. I can even carry it up and down the stairs with minimal effort. And the dirt canister is easy to empty. I can’t really comment on how good the HEPA filter since you can’t see it working but the air in our home seems to be cleaner as well.

All in all I would say that this Dyson picks up twice as much stuff as the old Hoover I had but then again it cost about twice as much money. The price is worth it to me as my home is free of dirt and allergens and I know the vacuum will last me for many years.

Dyson DC25 Upright Vacuum Cleaner

Worth the price and then some

I was very skeptical about Dyson vacuum cleaners in general because of the high price, but I have to admit that this is one of the best purchases I’ve ever made for my home. The main reason is that I have nerve damage and other problems in my lower back which make vacuuming very painful and laborous to say the least. On top of that, I have two dogs so I need to vacuum all the time to keep up with the pet dander. This upright vacuum is literally a miracle for me. It is so lightweight and easy to maneuver that I don’t have any pain after doing the entire house. That is really saying something, since things as small as bending over for a few minutes to wash the dishes can cause me pain. The DC25 practically glides effortlessly across my floors (which are half carpet and half hardwood). Seriously, this Dyson made my day when I first used it!

In addition, it works spectacular, and was a cinch to put together the first time. When you first use it you’ll see that so much thought went into the design in regards to usability and functionality. It’s attractive and modern, but more importantly, it flat out sucks up dirt and dust. I love that it can move along flush with a wall, so I rarely need to use the attachments (except to get behind stuff). And it’s smaller than I would have thought. I expected it to be much larger, but it’s small and so very, very light. You’ll really notice the difference between it and the normal 25 to 30 lbs. for other full sized upright vacuums. And it’s relatively quiet.

Another thing I really like is that it doesn’t seem to be a dust magnet. My previous vacuum cleaner seemed to attract a majority of the dirt to itself, rather than sucking it into the dust canister. I stored it outside in our laundry room because it was an eyesore (and I’m talking about a high end Hoover model that was less than a year old). The Dyson is clean enough to stay in the house after several months of hard use.

Vacuuming is not the most glamorous thing in the world, but this DC25 vacuum has surely revolutionized house cleaning for me.
