Terrific canister vacuum

I needed to buy a new canister vacuum cleaner so I spent some serious time reading up on the latest models. After reading many reviews I decided I wanted to spend the extra money and get a Miele, but I wasn’t sure which one. I was fed up with buy a new cleaner every year or so and I needed something that would last a long time. Miele has the reputation for doing just that with their solid construction and overall reliability.

The S2180 Titan seemed like the right choice for our home for a few reasons. The Power Head works great on our carpets and the HEPA filter makes the air seem much fresher than before. It is almost like putting an air freshener in every room. This canister also strikes a nice balance between cleaning ability and price. After using it for a while I now remember why I disliked vacuuming so much. No matter how many times I went over the floor it needed to be done again soon. However, now I see that the house stays clean for longer periods of time. I think the carpets are getting deep cleaned and everything on our hard floors is sucked right up. With a dog and a cat this is very important. The Titan is also easy to maneuver around our many pieces of furniture. I can’t believe how light it is even though it has so much power.

One thing I don’t like about it is the somewhat short cord. It has a 29 foot radius but this really isn’t a lot when you start using it. I think this is because of the small design as there isn’t much room for the electrical cord to be stored. Plus, the tools don’t seem to cover much ground either but again, I think this is because of the small size of this vacuum. This isn’t a big deal though because the suction power really makes up for it.

I’m pretty excited about the Miele S2180 Titan. I think I’ll save money with it in the end as I don’t think I’ll be replacing it for a long time. The bottom line is Miele vacuums last a long time. That’s what you pay for. If that is in your budget then I highly recommend any of their cleaners.

I use the Miele Twist everyday!

There are many options available on the Miele S7210 Twist upright vacuum cleaner depending on what you need to clean in your home. It has a switch button for hardwood floors, carpets, curtains, furniture, and more. The suction is also very powerful and I find that it powers through anything in my deep carpets. But, the biggest selling point of these vacuums and the main reason I bought it is the swivel neck. This is a great feature as it allows me to steer in any direction I need, around anything in my path. I can even lay the Twist down flat which is unlike any other upright that I looked at.

The front wheels are caster and they rotate 360 degrees as well. This also aids in the maneuverability and is a big help around my home. The movements are very fluid and really don’t take much effort at all. My prior vacuum was difficult at times because I had to stop and turn it when going around the furniture. This isn’t the case with this one. Kudos to Miele for figuring out a great solution.

I also have no doubt that this will last for many years. I know all about Miele engineering and am thrilled to have found a good deal on the S7210. I suggest looking around a bit though I found a great price on amazon. Overall I highly recommend it and now use it just about everyday for maintenance. My house has never been cleaner than it is today.

Lightweight and powerful little vacuum

I researched canister vacuums for a long time before I decided to buy the Miele S4212 Polaris. This vacuum cleaner is actually pretty small and compact, and it doesn’t weigh much either. You can put it on its’ back for easy storage and use on uneven surfaces like stairs. I also find that the onboard tools work great and are easy to get to. However, the best thing I like about this Miele is the telescoping wand as I can clean my drapes and other high corners without much work.

The head works pretty good on my carpets though they aren’t very thick but it has so much suction that I don’t think it would be a problem. It really shines on my hard floors as well which is why most people buy a canister. I have a good mixture of floors so I needed something that was flexible enough to handle it. The S4212 is just what I needed in my home. If you have more rugs you might opt for the Turbo head but I didn’t need it.

I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone who wants one of the best canister vacuums you can buy. Miele is always considered a top company and if you read any other reviews you will see why. I know because I read many of them before buying.

Great suction for a canister vacuum

The S5280 Callisto Galaxy is actually our second Miele canister vacuum cleaner. The first one was bought around 10 years ago and was a terrific vacuum the entire time. It would clean every floor in our home without leaving behind that telltale vacuuming odor that other models do. The suction power was always consistent and the bags were easy to replace. They never leaked any dust out which was much better than some other vacuums I have seen in action. This canister lasted faithfully until I accidentally sent it down a flight of stairs.

The new Miele S5280 has an electric brush and wow, what a difference this makes over our prior vacuum cleaner. It really works great and is night and day better than our prior Miele, which we thought worked great at that time. While we have mostly hardwoods, on the few carpets that we do have this new brush removes everything that an upright would. This is worth the purchase price alone.

My opinion is if you can afford it then you should buy a machine that has an electric style brush, mostly if you have carpets in your house. The S5280 Callisto Galaxy Series is a fantastic vacuum, no doubt, but they really shine on carpets. If you have almost all hard floors then the cheaper Miele models would work fine. However, if you will be vacuuming carpets then spend the extra money on this one and enjoy the electric brush.

Very nice and affordable upright stick vacuum

Our family recently purchased the Miele S163 Universal upright for our new vacuum cleaner as we heard it was good for allergies and pet hair while not being too expensive. We decided to add the hepa filter which was a great idea as we have pets in our household. After reading some other reviews we figured this smaller Miele was great for a home like ours which has some carpets and hardwoods without a huge area to clean every week.

The S163 vacuum cleaner has a little bit of top heavy feel to it but it is not that bad. The suction is excellent and it moves around nicely. It vacuums very well and seems to suck a lot of dirt and other stuff out of our carpets that we didn’t think was there. Since it is small it also goes into our closet easily. We hang it on a hook to keep it out of the way.

This Miele is also a very nice looking model which isn’t the most important thing but this upright looks like it will last. I give it five stars because I don’t have anything bad to say about it. After using it for a while I can say it does everything I need and then some.

Best upright vacuum cleaner I’ve ever used

I have used the Miele S7580 Bolero upright vacuum cleaner for a month now. One thing I noticed is that it is extremely quiet compared to my old Dirt Devil. There is almost zero exhaust odor as well and my carpets are in better condition now than I have ever seen them! This upright vacuum is a joy to use without question.

The swivel neck moves the vacuum very well and with the carpet brush toggle turned on, the vacuum powers itself forward. It’s almost like using a self propelled mower. Vacuuming with the Bolero is a joy, not a chore and I look forward to cleaning believe it or not. I vacuum my home way more often as I used to. The floor toggle will conveniently lift the roller brush allowing me to vacuum my rugs and non-carpeted floors very easily without worry that I will damage them. The ability to control the suction power is a great added bonus as sometimes you don’t need max power. The lower the suction, the quieter the Bolero becomes. I also like that the tool extension is not made of cheap plastic like other cleaners.

The vacuum cleaner great and looks well designed, well built, and sturdy. The slower ramp up power on motor is nice and seems well built and long lasting but you wouldn’t expect anything less from Miele. I am happy to have a nice looking and great looking vacuum that I actualy cleaning with every week. I recommend the S7580 upright to anyone looking for a top notch machine.

Should have gone with consumer reports

I purchased the Miele S524 canister vacuum cleaner 3 1/2 years ago. The wand has been replaced twice (once under warranty and once at my expense). I just paid to have the cord replaced and the wand is cutting out again. I spoke with a representative at the company who indicated that it is operator error. Instead of pressing the foot pedal to retract the wire, it is necessary to hold it and let it gently go back in. The wand failure is my fault because I don’t have the power setting and carpet level set correctly. The instruction manual does not indicate or recommend this type of setting and/or usage. I am going to cut my loses and and toss the thing and chalk it up to a $1,000 error. The company said they would replace the wand if less than a year old and the dealer feels it is a manufacturer defect. I told the technician it is not a manufacturing defect (3 wands and needing a fourth) but rather a design flaw. I reviewed he operating manual and neither of these issues is mentioned. When I set out to buy a vacuum, I went to Sears because of Consumer Reports rating. I decided that perhaps the more expensive vacuum cleaner might be better. Should have gone with consumer reports.

The S524 has been replaced by newer models in their lineup so hopefully they took care of these problems.

The Miele Capricorn takes care of business!

The Miele Capricorn canister vacuum cleaner, equipped with the 236 power nozzle is probably the best tool to win the war against pet hair and other allergens. There simply is not a better power nozzle that I could find for this cleaning task. We have a large sheep dog in our home who is constantly shedding and making a mess of our nice rugs. It is my personal mission to keep the house free from his clumps of white hair. With constant vacuuming in all of the rooms we need a cleaner that could do the job so we looked at many canisters. Obviously the best known name was Miele.

We have always heard good things about their vacuums but never owned one. Mostly because they are expensive but after going through a vacuum cleaner pretty much every other year we wanted one that would last. Whenever we would read reviews about any Miele model they would always state that they love the machine and have used it for many years with few repairs. This was important for us and a big reason we went with them.

I can say that I have had the Miele Capricorn in our household for more than a year now and have not had one problem with it. It has suction like the day we brought it home and the hepa filter has been great. Vacuuming is not a fun chore but when you have a cool cleaner to help you it really removes much of the stress. While you will pay more for this particular canister you definitely get a lot of value. If you can swing the higher cost and want a totally clean home then check out the Capricorn from Miele. After a few weeks using it you won’t even remember your prior vacuum at all.

One Of The Top Of The Line Canister Vacuums

We were tired of replacing our vacuum cleaner every year so we opted for the Miele S516 Cat And Dog canister model with the STB 101 handheld turbo brush. While it costs more than we are used to, over the long run it will make up for it as we won’t have to buy a new vacuum for a long time. The quality of this machine is top notch and we are more than happy.

It has been a few months since I purchased the Miele S516. Our home is very high traffic as we have 2 children and a dog and cat. Needless to say we clean up a lot of hair and dirt every week. One thing we noticed about these cleaners is they never clog or lose suction. The noise is actually quite tame compared to our old upright and it’s nice having a canister where we can reach under furniture with ease. The size and weight of this machine is just right as it is easy to move and carry as necessary.

The bags for this cleaner are very small and only cost around $3. It sucks up dust like there is no tomorrow and the HEPA filter works great so the $3 per week is well worth it. It’s funny because our family actually enjoys cleaning time now as this Miele takes the cake for the easiest to use vacuum we have ever owned. We recommend it to anybody who has pets and children because as it will transform your weekly cleaning chores from boring to fun.
