Dyson DC14 Upright Vacuum Cleaner Review
Love the vacuum but had issues with it

While I do love my Dyson DC14 upright vacuum cleaner, I have to say that I was recently shocked to find that when the belt goes, and you think it is a quick trip to walmart to buy a new one
and replace, know & understand now that is sooo not the case. It is an entire assembly, that I have been advised the belts are probably fine, but the gears gone bad. As if I had not paid enough for the vacuum, I now know that I can get the belt assembly for a mere $100.00, and it requires a “special” tool, therefore, I will also have to have it repaired by a professional. Very disappointed Dyson owner.

Like Julie I too am a disappointed Dyson owner. I own a 5 year old Dyson DC07 All Floors and have run into the same issue. I contacted Dyson, whose service department was very friendly, and was told that I have to bring the vacuum to a certified repair specialist. The certified repair specialists are not the most conveniently located and their pricing is outrageous, so much so that the cost justification of owning a Dyson does not seem to be worth the hype.
Although it is true the vacuum does not loose suction the vacuum does not stand up to its promise of long lasting as they are expensive to repair, even for what would be a small, simplistic repair for other vacuums.
