Hoover 5507-900 Elite Bagless Upright Vacuum Cleaners

Surprised by the performance

I am someone who likes to vacuum a couple of times each week so I tend to go through vacuums fairly often. When it was time to replace my last Hoover I opted for the Elite bagless upright. I needed a bagless model because I like the ease of just emptying the dirt canister into the garbage and I don't want to buy expensive bags. After reading some of the reviews I thought this was a good value for the low price.

This upright is worth the money as it has quite a bit of suction, a surprising amount actually. When vacuuming you won't believe how quiet it is too. My older and more expensive Windtunnel seemed to make a lot more noise, almost like a train coming at you. The Elite is almost quiet enough to talk on the phone when using it. It removes a lot of dirt and you can simply empty it into the garbage. The design is nice because it drops down from the bottom so you won't make a big mess. The HEPA filter seems to work well too. I really have no complaints about the performance.

The one downside I have to it is I tend to trip over the electrical cord when I have it all the way out. There is a clip on the handle but it's not that easy to use. It's not a deal breaker for me but something I should mention.

For the money I don't think you can go wrong with the Hoover Elite bagless upright. It's easy to use, quiet, and sucks up tons of dirt. The reviews are pretty positive as well. If you aren't looking for a top of the line vacuum cleaner and just want something that will get your home clean each week, this is the model for you.
