I bought the Oreck XL 2000 upright vacuum cleaner earlier this year and have found many things that I like about it, but also a few that I don't. I found some positive reviews and some negative ones, but my experiences have been mostly positive. I'll start my review with some of the things I like about it.

For starters it is a very light upright and I find that I can even take it with me when I need to vacuum the office at my shop. It is also really easy to go low enough to get underneath our bed and some of the higher furniture in our home. The Oreck XL also works pretty good on hard floors which is very helpful for us because we have a variety of flooring types. We find ourselves vacuuming often as we have a busy household and this upright keeps up pretty good.

Now for the things I don't like about it. The suction doesn't seem to be as good as it should be and there is a lack of useful attachments on it. It just doesn't seem to have the extras that other (more expensive) uprights have like a turbo brush. I always like that on our prior model. And the bags are quite expensive as well. If you are looking for a bagless unit then you need to look elsewhere. I like to have bags but wish they didn't cost so much. And as for looks, the Oreck XL is an ugly vacuum cleaner. There really is no sugar coating that point.

Overall I give it 4 stars because it works great for what we need but it still has a few things they could improve on. Oreck is a well known brand of vacuum cleaners so I'm not worried about the durability. Plus I'm sure they will stand behind it if I have a problem.
