One of the best vacuums I’ve ever owned

I bought the Sebo X5 upright and I can say that I really love this vacuum cleaner. I saw this in a local shop and really had never heard about it but I gave it a try and was hooked. It really made me think that there is a company out there that truly cares about building a quality product. The operation was great and I could tell it would last for a long time. That’s why I didn’t care about the higher price, I was tired of buying junk vacuum cleaners.
Some of the things I like about it are: ease of use (glides right over the carpets), low profile when the handle is lowered, quiet operation when compared to my other upright, very powerful suction with a great HEPA filtration system, bag holds quite a bit of dust, simple and compact design, and the belts are built to last a long time. The overall cleaning is superb as my carpets have never looked better. I mean, it’s been years since they were even close to this clean.
Even though I love it there are a couple things I don’t like about the Sebo X5. For starters, I had to buy the stair attachment separately. While it wasn’t a huge deal it would be nice when you spend more than $700 on a vacuum that they can include this helpful attachment. Also, it isn’t manufactured in the US but I still decided to buy it.
Overall I am thrilled I decided to go with a brand that I knew nothing about. The Sebo X5 is a quality machine and really does a good job on my home. Even though it is more money than any other vacuum cleaner I have ever owned it really is worth it. I don’t expect to buy another one for a long time.

Won’t buy another Eureka again!

I would rate this vacuum with 1-2 stars and the Eureka customer service dept with 0 stars. Had this for 9 months and it hasn’t worked correctly for the past 4 or 5 months. Doesn’t pick up pet hair, as it is touted to do. Was told by Eureka to take it in for warranty service and after spending 25 bucks there we still had the same trouble. The Eureka rep we got the 2nd time tried to troubleshoot and had us doing things that the warranty service should have or maybe did do. Also tried to sell us filters after all the troubleshooting was done and we still had the same problem. Now we are stuck with a vacuum that half works. I wouldn’t buy another vacuum from Eureka!!

Great canister for the price

I wanted to buy a bagless canister vacuum that had some power but didn’t have the money for a higher end one so I looked into the Dirt Devil Vision Turbo. This cleaner gets my hardwood floors very clean and does a great job on the area carpets too. My husband and I really like the auto electric cord rewind, especially since the cord is very long. We can vacuum our entire great room without switching outlets. This wasn’t possible on our prior upright.
There are a couple minor things I don’t like about it though. The junction where the hose meets the wand handle seems to hinder the maneuverability of the Vision when using it. It makes it hard to get into those difficult places when using the wand which is what it was designed for. My solution is to just move some stuff around but the design could be better. Also, the motor seems to make a weird noise when it’s turned on but it quickly goes away. It doesn’t affect the suction at all as this is quite good for a smaller canister.
For the price this vacuum is hard to beat. If you have a lot of rugs it might not be the best choice but for a home with many types it is a great alternative to the more expensive vacuums. I recommend it and would buy one again.

Great vacuum cleaner with a little downside

First off, the Hoover S3670 Windtunnel Anniversary Edition canister vacuum cleaner is great. It really has amazing suction at a relatively low price. I also find that it cleans carpets just as good as hard floors which is not always the case with canister vacuums. One thing to think about though is if you are using it on a cheapo throw rug you should turn off the beater bar. I have ruined more than one of my carpets this way. This really was my fault though and not something I can blame Hoover for.
I like the fact that it is bagged as well. I know that some people prefer bagless but I find that bags work better because they seal up air tight. It also cleans crevices and difficult to reach places due to its’ low profile. I really haven’t found much that I don’t like but there are a couple small things.
For starters the bare floor attachment doesn’t work that well. I went to Sears and bought their unit for a couple dollars. It works much better. The beater bar does not have an adjustable height so if you have a thicker carpet I would advise against using it. The hose also seems to be smaller in diameter than some other canister vacuum cleaners I looked at but it does fit the attachments well. Doesn’t seem to affect performance but I’m not picking up larger debris either. Just something to consider.
I used a Kenmore for many years and thought it was great until I bought the Hoover S3670. My new Hoover Windtunnel is the best I’ve used even though there are some things they could improve on. For the money it is hard to find a better canister vacuum.

Quality canister vacuum cleaner

I purchased the Panasonic Optiflow bagged canister vacuum to replace my old and worn out Eureka. My old cleaner was getting very noisy and just didn’t have the suction that it used to. And since it was an upright you couldn’t get underneath anything and I had to be careful vacuuming my hard floors. This is the reason I opted for a canister this time.
Now, my troubles are a thing of the past. This Panasonic is very lightweight and quiet. I can run it and hear the phone ring with no difficulty which is much better than my old model. And believe it or not it still has quite a bit of suction.
The brush on the Optiflow works very well and since it uses bags it doesn’t release any dust back into your room. I like this much more than a bagless one though my only complaint is that the dust bags could be bigger. One thing I do like about the design is it seems to fill up completely without losing any suction. Again, this was a problem with my other vacuum which would progressively lose suction as it sucked up more dirt.
For those allergy sufferers there is a HEPA filter and it is included with your purchase. Most vacuums today do have HEPA but not all of them include an actual filter when you buy the machine. This means you have to spend extra money before you can even use it once. Panasonic took care of this for their customers which is appreciated.
I love the Optiflow canister vacuum cleaner. It gets all of my floors clean with no problems. I even look forward to cleaning my house each week which is definitely something new for me. Highly recommended.

Our house has three different levels to clean so we were interested in lightweight canister vacuum cleaners, which led us to the Hoover Windtunnel bagless model. Our prior one was also a canister but it was a cheaper model and didn’t really clean the floors well. After reading many consumer reviews at amazon.com we decided to give this Hoover a try. It just had so many good recommendations and seemed to be what we needed.
We have had it for around three months and couldn’t be more pleased with it. It has a very powerful motor and gives us several different options for suction power, via the buttons on the handle. Another button will also activate the carpet beaters so you can easily go from carpets to bare floors and back again. The canister also has a useful compartment that holds the crevice tool and brush attachment. The metal wand will detach from the floor attachment via another release lever so you can reach those hard places like shelves and air vents. It’s obvious that the engineers put some thought into this design and also put some time in vacuuming with it.
In our home we have a cat and a dog so we get quite a bit of hair on everything. We are simply amazed at the amount of hair and dander that this vacuum picks up. When we empty out the canister we definitely know that we have pets. One thing to note is that we don’t notice any odor from the air expelled from the filters. These are also easy to clean as they are washable. We just make sure we keep them clean after each vacuuming session. This keeps the Hoover performing like a new vacuum cleaner every time we fire it up.
In our opinion Hoover had built the perfect canister vacuum cleaner for us and we recommend the Windtunnel to anyone with pets, stairs, and various types of floors.

Great suction but a little pricey

I was looking for a new canister vacuum cleaner for my home so I decided to give the Dyson DC23 Turbinehead a try. Their uprights are very popular but I haven’t heard much about their canisters. I found an ok price on this one so I thought I would try it since they know a lot about building powerful vacuums.
Obviously the first thing I noticed was how much dirt and dust it picked up compared to my old vacuum cleaner. The suction on the DC23 is amazing and I find that it really doesn’t lose suction when I’m using it. The turbine head attachment spins very fast and pulls up a lot of stuff. I find that it easily picks up cat litter, small pebbles, and just about anything else in its’ path. One thing that shocked me was the huge ball of dust that I picked up in our bedroom. I have no complaints about the cleaning ability of this vacuum.
Some of the things I like about the Dyson DC23 are the great suction, the rather small size and overall light weight, and the modern design of it. I also find that the dust bin is easy to empty and like the fact that I don’t have to buy replacement bags. Also, since it is a canister I find that I can get underneath things much easier than my prior upright vacuum. This is a big help since I don’t have to move many things to get the house clean.
There are a couple things that I don’t like about it. For starters, the hose doesn’t really fold up nicely on it. It just seems to hang off and the power head attachment doesn’t have a solid place to stay either. I also think it is a little expensive but if it lasts as long as they say it will then I won’t have a problem with paying more. I’m just not used to paying this much for a vacuum cleaner but most of my prior purchases haven’t lasted very long.
Overall I like the Dyson DC23 Turbinehead. It cleans all of our floors including carpets and linoleum, plus it picks up a lot of dirt that our older one left behind. I recommend it to anybody looking for a canister that is powerful and still has the flexibility to clean many floor types.

Great suction for a canister vacuum

The S5280 Callisto Galaxy is actually our second Miele canister vacuum cleaner. The first one was bought around 10 years ago and was a terrific vacuum the entire time. It would clean every floor in our home without leaving behind that telltale vacuuming odor that other models do. The suction power was always consistent and the bags were easy to replace. They never leaked any dust out which was much better than some other vacuums I have seen in action. This canister lasted faithfully until I accidentally sent it down a flight of stairs.
The new Miele S5280 has an electric brush and wow, what a difference this makes over our prior vacuum cleaner. It really works great and is night and day better than our prior Miele, which we thought worked great at that time. While we have mostly hardwoods, on the few carpets that we do have this new brush removes everything that an upright would. This is worth the purchase price alone.
My opinion is if you can afford it then you should buy a machine that has an electric style brush, mostly if you have carpets in your house. The S5280 Callisto Galaxy Series is a fantastic vacuum, no doubt, but they really shine on carpets. If you have almost all hard floors then the cheaper Miele models would work fine. However, if you will be vacuuming carpets then spend the extra money on this one and enjoy the electric brush.

Vacuums great but the quality is not good

When we bought our home it was a mix of tile, hardwood floors and carpet. I went around checking out vacuums, read reviews and asked friends what they had. Everyone I spoke with along with every vacuum had pros and cons. I went to Sears to check out the Kenmore and ended up coming home with one but hate it now. While it works great on carpet and seems to have a lot of power the thing is so heavy I can’t get it up or down the stairs very easily and usually have to ask my husband. Although I do like the intelliclean feature on on board tools. But it’s just so BIG. It doesn’t fit under much so you’ll spend time moving furniture and it’s very wide so it doesn’t fit between kitchen chairs or even bar stools. The attachments are literally worthless. The little knobs that the wand needs to attach to in order to use the extention tools have worn off twice and it basically now duct taped together. Nice huh? The pieces are made of soft plastic and have just disappeared off the tubing so there’s no way to attach the telescoping wand any longer without shelling out over $100 to replace the pieces.
The warranty stinks!! I don’t think so. Probably because Kenmore knows the pieces don’t last!! I think it’s a poor design or rather poor quality material for the part of the vacuum that gets the most use. Would never recommend this vacuum to anyone and am now looking for another as this one’s going to the curb. I would rate this vacuum great (5) in carpet cleaning performance but a (1) in overall quality and it’s very heavy.
